Discount codes Bountful gives
Bountful can offer a shopper money off to help close a sale. It’s off to start with. You set the limits.
Where: Settings → Agent → Discounts and deals
Turn it on
Go to Settings → Agent, and open the Discounts and deals card. Turn on Offer discounts, then set:
- Biggest discount: 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% or 25%. It starts at 10%. Bountful usually offers less, and goes up to this number only now and then.
- Codes per month: how many codes Bountful can give out in a month. It starts at 25. When they’re used up, Bountful stops offering codes until the next month.
- A code lasts: 24 hours, 3 days or 7 days.
Click Save.
Bountful gives a code in return for a shopper’s email, or for buying two or more products together. So also turn on Collect shopper emails in the Leads card, or Deals for buying more on this card. With both off, Bountful gives out no codes.
How codes work
- Each code is a real discount code in your store. It works for one order.
- A code covers the products the shopper was looking at in the chat, not the whole store.
- Each shopper gets one offer.
- The codes are listed under Discounts in your Shopify admin. A code that runs out unused is removed from there within about two hours.
When a shopper asks for a code
A shopper who asks for a discount doesn’t get the email trade in that chat, even if the price stops them later. Bountful tells them there are no codes to give out, with Offer discounts on or off. Then it tries to help another way, like a product that fits or one of your store’s policies.
